A CULTURAL MASTERPLAN FOR EBBSFLEET VALLEY HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED BY LAND SECURITIES FROM FUTURECITY THAT PLACES CULTURE AT THE HEART OF THE REGION'S REGENERATION. EBBSFLEET INTERNATIONAL STATION AND THE EBBSFLEET LANDMARK PROJECT WILL BE KEY IN THIS PROCESS. THE CULTURAL STRATEGY WILL PROVIDE A TOOLKIT FOR CULTURAL AND ARTS BASED ACTIVITY FOR THE GRAVESHAM AND DARTFORD AREA WITH THE AIM OF CREATING ACTIVITY, LIFE AND VIBRANCY
The thinking behind this approach is defined by the Work Foundation's think-tank "a place with strong cultural assets can draw in the world's most talented workers and entrepreneurs, a healthy and vibrant cultural, leisure and sporting life enhances cities in a positive way"
The Ebbsfleet Landmark project needs therefore to be local, national and international in its aspirations. It should embrace the complexities of the site, the local geography, history and the communities of Gravesham and Dartford. It should enforce Ebbsfleet Valley's status as England's gateway to Greater London, North Kent and the Thames Gateway as well as its potential link to 2012 as a part of the cultural offer for Kent.
